Preparing Better for the UPSC Exam

For a competitive exam as demanding as the Union Public Service Commission Civil Services Examination (UPSC CSE), every move of an aspirant must be objectively measurable. Choosing the right subject (optional), for instance, can be a game changer in this respect. The right optional can swing the score in favour of the candidate, while the wrong choice can prove to be a costly mistake in the algorithm of success.

It may not be an exaggeration to call the UPSC CSE syllabus to be as vast as the sea. It is very dynamic and, at best, indicative. Human rights, for example, may just be a term mentioned as part of the syllabus but it encompasses everything from the LGBTQ+ to refugees to climate change. Similarly, globalisation as a topic spreads an equally expansive net. The candidates therefore have a lot to prepare, especially for the general studies (GS) papers.
